What Is Armodafinil?

Armodafinil is a medication prescribed to patients who have been diagnosed with sleep disorders such as narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea and shift work sleep disorder to reduce their extreme sleepiness. Those who have not been diagnosed with a sleep disorder should not take armodafinil to ward off sleepiness, nor should armodafinil be taken in place of a good night’s rest. Although taking armodafinil has helped most sleep disorder patients, the medication will not cure a sleep disorder, and it is not guaranteed to get rid of all your sleepiness.

Armodafinil Addiction Treatment And Rehab

Just like taking any medication, armodafinil can produce certain side effectsfor some patients. Common, less severe armodafinil side effects include a headache, nausea, dry mouth, nervousness, dizziness and difficulty sleeping. Talk to your doctor right away if these common armodafinil side effects persist or worsen. Although rare, some patients may experience serious armodafinil side effects such as fast or irregular heartbeat, agitation, confusion, depression, hallucinations and thoughts of suicide. Notify your doctor as soon as possible if you notice these serious symptoms of using armodafinil.

Seek medical attention immediately if you notice any chest pain after taking armodafinil, as this is a very serious side effect of the medication.

Treatment Options For Armodafinil Addiction Symptoms

Some patients have developed an armodafinil addiction even if they take the medication exactly as their doctor tells them to. If you or someone you love begins to develop an armodafinil addiction, you may notice certain signs such as becoming obsessed with finding and taking armodafinil as well as losing interest in the hobbies and activities you once enjoyed. If these armodafinil addiction signs become apparent, seek help as soon as possible.

Armodafinil Medical Detox

If you no longer wish to take armodafinil, schedule a meeting with your doctor to discuss your options. Normally, your doctor will gradually lower your armodafinil dose over time, so your body has time to adjust to less of the medication. Your armodafinil treatment schedule and dosage levels should never be adjusted without your doctor’s supervision. Although withdrawal symptoms from armodafinil are typically described as mild, do not stop taking armodafinil cold turkey. Abruptly discontinuing your armodafinil treatment puts you at higher risk to experience armodafinil withdrawal symptoms.

Armodafinil Rehabilitation Programs

The Recovery Village offers a variety of treatment programs and resources that can be tailored to suit every patient’s needs. The first step in recovering from armodafinil addiction, regardless of which treatment program a patient enters, is to safely detox from armodafinil. Once armodafinil is safely removed from the patient’s body, they can participate in individual and group counseling as well as recreational therapy activities while they attend treatment at The Recovery Village.

Inpatient Armodafinil Rehab

Inpatient armodafinil rehab is a program that allows patients to live on campus at one of The Recovery Village’s designated inpatient centers while they get over their armodafinil addiction or another substance use disorder. If patients are having difficulty recovering from their armodafinil addiction due to distractions from the outside world, or they have severe armodafinil addiction, this is the treatment program for them. While in the inpatient armodafinil rehab, patients will learn skills to cope with the unique challenges they face in their struggle with armodafinil addiction.

Outpatient Armodafinil Rehab

After finishing the inpatient armodafinil rehab, patients will begin the outpatient armodafinil rehab program. Here, patients will live at home while coming to The Recovery Village for scheduled treatment appointments. Some patients with less severe armodafinil rehab may opt to skip inpatient armodafinil rehab and begin their treatment with the outpatient option.

Choosing An Armodafinil Rehab Center

Schedule a time to meet with your doctor to discuss what you may need in an armodafinil rehab center to make an informed decision. Factors such as how long you have been taking armodafinil and your armodafinil dosage levels may be important to consider when choosing an armodafinil rehab center.
