Amber Martin has a visceral yearning to dispense comfort and compassion, to make even the slightest difference and to advocate, all by being in service to others. She currently provides this servant leadership as the Executive Director and Director of Nursing at The Recovery Village Ridgefield.
Amber became a nurse more than 13 years ago; specializing in substance use disorders, mental health, wound care and leadership. As a Nursing Director for the past six years, she led a nursing team that was deficiency-free in all state audits and conformed to all CARF standards. She is currently working to complete her MSN in Leadership and Management and seeking to sit for the CARN examination, an addiction nursing certification. Outside the office, she volunteers at a free health clinic and addiction prevention and mentoring program for youth.
The Recovery Village aims to improve the quality of life for people struggling with substance use or mental health disorder with fact-based content about the nature of behavioral health conditions, treatment options and their related outcomes. We publish material that is researched, cited, edited and reviewed by licensed medical professionals.
