When faced with trauma and the impact of substance use not having consistent, positive, adult relationships has a lasting impact on children. It is through connection where change can occur to empower individuals to find success in both prevention efforts and treatment programs.

About Ashley Garcia, MSW, LISW:

Ashley Garcia, MSW, LISW is the Prevention Program Supervisor for Alcohol and Drug Services at Columbus Public Health. She supervises 6 grant funded prevention programs that target at risk populations in Columbus. Ashley is responsible for implementing program curriculums to fidelity and fostering relationships with community partners. Ashley spent 3 years with CPH as a Prevention Coordinator and is passionate about empowering others through education that foster resiliency.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University and a Masters of Social Work with a specialization in Sexuality Studies from Ohio State University focusing on the impact of trauma especially as it relates to substance use and children.
